Position: Legal Intern, ASA International
Who we are
The Legal Intern will work in an international and multi-jurisdictional environment, reporting to the Group Legal Head of ASA International (the “Company”). The main role will be to support the Group Legal Head in her role and responsibilities. The Legal Intern will take on various legal projects assigned by the Group Legal Head and General Counsel. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to work in an international and culturally diverse setting. We seek a candidate who is open to a hybrid working model for an initial 4-month contract.
responsibilities
▸ Research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable laws,
regulations, judicial decisions, and codes
▸ Drafting and reviewing of legal documents, including agreements, business proposals, legal
memo’s, legal reports
▸ Draft terms and conditions in agreements
▸ Assist in developing solutions to complex legal questions
▸ Review materials of the Company to ensure compliance with legal requirements
▸ Close contact with internal stakeholders of various cultures and external legal counsels in
Asia and Africa
Education and Skills
▸ University degree in law (common law or civil law). Bachelor or masters in Law
▸ Around 0-3 years of working experience
▸ Interest in microfinance and social entrepreneurship
▸ Interest in corporate/commercial and banking law
▸ Motivated team player, down to earth, flexible and willing to learn
▸ Excellent verbal/writing communication skills in English.
