ASA (www.asa.org.bd), one of the leading Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) in the world, has been working relentlessly in Bangladesh to reduce poverty since 1978. The formal banking sector in developing countries does not typically provide financial services to the poor. The microfinance movement has shown that there is a thriving market among the poor when financial products cater to their specific needs. The poor are a quite active group in any economy. ASA has shown that their needs can be met while at the same time making the institution profitable. Up to May 2010 ASA's cumulative loan disbursement has been US$ 5,500 million while loan outstanding is US$ 500 million serving 5.7 million members through 3222 branches.

ASA International (ASAI) has been established to replicate ASA's model of microfinance operations in various countries around the world, namely India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Ghana and Cambodia. Each of these MFIs will follow the highly efficient ASA model, adjusted to their local circumstances. Up to June 2010 ASAI India’s cumulative loan disbursement has been US$ 65 million, while loan outstanding is US $ 32 million and serving 250,136 borrowers through 220 branches. ASA International India is currently looking for an experienced Senior Consultant for India operation. 1. Prepare detailed feasibility study and work plan to start new operation in different states of India

2. Maintain rapport liaison with the MDs of different banks for getting debt fund

3. Regular field visit to train and develop the staffs and oversee ASA Methodology of loan disbursement and collection with details terms and conditions, OD Management and accordingly report to the management

2. The applicant should have at least 10 years experience in the field of Microcredit/Banking

4. At least Masters degree majoring in Business Studies/Economics/Social Science or MBA

1. Initially the job will be contractual for one year with possibility of extension as regular/permanent staff

2. Consolidated remuneration will be one lac rupees per month subject to income tax, professional tax etc. (negotiable for qualified candidates)

3. PF, ESI, Gratuity and leave encashment etc. will be entitled after confirmation

Prepare total institutional project plan Qualifications: 1. Must be an Indian citizen 2. The applicant should have at least 10 years experience in the field of Microcredit/Banking 3. Age should be 45+ years 4. At least Masters degree majoring in Business Studies/Economics/Social Science or MBA 5. Has ability/experiences to work with top management 6. Has ability to handle HR issues 7. Has experience/knowledge in Microfinance/Banking functions 8. Has network with Banks, MFIs, Donors, Govt. authorities etc. 9. Fluent in Hindi and English Language specially writing and speaking Terms of Service: 1. Initially the job will be contractual for one year with possibility of extension as regular/permanent staff 2.
